History
As far back as 1600 B.C., the ancient Egyptians have used salt for medicinal use. Many salt recipes were used by the Egyptians, dispensed in either liquid, suppository or ointment form. Instructions

1 - Warm the water and put it in a regular foot bath or in a dishpan you keep for this purpose.            
     Warm water soothes the feet better than hot water. Make sure not to burn    your feet.
2 - Add table salt, sea salt or a dish washing liquid that has lotion in it.
3 - Soak your feet for about 15 minutes.
4 - Rub your wet feet with a pumice stone or loofah to help remove the dead skin.
5 - Pat your feet dry.
6 - Apply a nice lotion to help keep your feet soft.

Performing a HIMALAYAN Salt Soak

Begin by running hot water in your bathtub. While the tub is filling, add 16 ounces of sea salt to the water. Next, you may want to add essential oils to the water for added benefits.

For a calming and relaxing soak, add 2-3 drops of French Lavender, 2-3 drops of Peppermint, and 2 drops of Roman or Yellow Chamomile to the water.

To alleviate aches and pains, add 2-3 drops of Peppermint, 2-3 drops of Eucalyptus, and 2 drops of Wintergreen to the water.

For a spiritual soak, add 2 drops of Frankincense, 2 drops of Myrrh, 2-3 drops of Sandalwood, 2-3 drops of Davana, 2-3 drops of Oakmoss to the water.

For a detoxifying soak, add 2 drops of Oregano, 2 drops of Parsley, 2 drops of Hyssop, 2 drops of Eucalyptus, 2 drops of Turmeric, 2 drops of Juniper Berry and 3 drops of Tea Tree oil to the water.

Enter the tub and begin soaking. Soak for 45-60 minutes. Relax, meditate, listen to music, and focus on the health of your body.

Before you exit the tub, bathe. Scrub yourself with a loofah brush or wash yourself thoroughly with a towel.

Following the soak, you may like to use moisturizing oil on your body. Be sure to use a natural, botanical oil on the skin. These allow the skin to breathe properly. Some excellent skin oils to try are:

As a foot bath, pamper weary feet by adding 1/2 cup of himalayan salt to a basin of warm water. Relax and soak feet for 20 minutes. If you like, rub away any calluses using a pumice stone. Dry feet, then add two drops of peppermint essential oil to your favorite natural moisturizer, like shea or coconut butter, and rub in thoroughly to lock in the moisture. Athlete’s Foot           - Soak feet in himalayan salt bath to help relieve the symptoms of Athlete’s Foot.
Remove splinters     - Soak affected skin area in himalayan salt bath to draw out the splinter.
Treat toenail fungus - Soak your affected toes in hot water mixed with a handful of himalayan salt three
                                     times a day.
Soothe sprains and bruises - Add 2 cups himalayan salt to a warm bath and soak to reduce the pain and
                                     swelling of sprains and bruises.
Ease discomfort of Gout - Ease the discomfort of gout and reduce inflammation by adding 2-3 teaspoons  
                                    of himalayan salts into a basin and immersing the affected foot/joint. The water
                                    should be as hot as it is comfortable. Soak for about 30 minutes.


HIMALAYAN SALT USES: BEAUTY
Exfoliate dead skin - In the shower or bath, mix a handful of himalayan salt with a tablespoon of bath or
                                  olive oil and rub all over your wet skin to exfoliate and soften. Rinse thoroughly.
Exfoliating face cleanser - To clean your face and exfoliate skin at the same time, mix a half-teaspoon of
                                  himalayan salt with your regular cleansing cream. Gently massage into skin and rinse
                                  with cold water.
Dislodge blackheads - Add a teaspoon of himalayan salt and 3 drops iodine into a half cup of boiling
                                  water. Apply this mixture to the blackheads with a cotton ball.
Remove foot odor - Mix a half cup of himalayan salt in warm water and soak your feet for 10 minutes to
                                 remove bad odor, sooth achy feet, and soften rough skin.
Remove hairspray - Combine 1 gallon of water, 1 cup of lemon juice, and 1 cup himalayan salt. Cover the
                                 mixture and let set for 24 hours. The next day, pour the mixture into your dry hair and
                                 leave on for 20 minutes before shampooing as normal.
Hair volumizer - Combine equal parts deep conditioner and himalayan salt and warm in a pan. Work the
                              warm mixture through your hair and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.


HIMALAYAN SALT USES: HOUSEHOLD
Clean bathroom tiles - Mix equal parts HIMALAYAN salt and liquid dish detergent and use as a scrub on
                                      bathroom tile.
Prevent slugs            - Sprinkle HIMALAYAN salt on or near interior entry points to prevent slugs.
As a hand wash         - Mix HIMALAYAN salt with baby oil and keep by the sink for an effective hand
                                     wash.
